Ok, I was
really overwhelmed by the series when the credits for the seventh episode from
the forth season took place on the screen. “That’s a little late, dumbass.
There’s plenty of amazing stuff before that”, the fan may also think. I’m not a
complete dumbass, but I agree with him. There’s a bunch of really cool, catchy
events before s04e07. I could name some: the Tuco’s saga, some intriguing
events regarding Walter’s family, the development of Jesse’s character and his
affair with that cute drug addict, Rank’s attempt by the twins from hell, and
more. So much more. Highlights were the episode with the old man in the
wheelchair (the closest of “genius” the
series ever was), and all events regarding Gale’s death
at the end of third season; that was really, really thrilling.
Satisfied,
non-existing-breaking-bad-fan-reader? There’s more.
I deeply
appreciated the creation of Hank’s character. A criminal as Walt having a DEA
agent in the core of his family was charming, such as Dexter having a lieutenant
sister. Feels like a time-bomb. You know something very juicy comes from that
relation at some point. At least you expect that.
Now what I
don’t quite like. Something that bothered me so far in BB: the main character
took too small part in the action as I thought he would. In Dexter, the
serial killer conducts the events, taking the lead in the process, as his
narrative perspective confirms. Heinsenberg, in the other hand, did a small
contribution for the main events so far (and I said SO FAR), drifting along,
passively, while big things happens around him (I can’t be more specific unless
I give some spoilers, which I won’t). I believe, though, that this is going to
change, as Heinsenberg will take major steps to solve his problems and that
won’t happen without some confrontation.
One last awful thing about Dexter: the end is
simply terrible. The final episode is poor and messy. For all the reactions
I’ve seen, It doesn’t seem that BB is gonna end the same way.
